2018 Dances of Universal Peace Weekend Retreat with Wali and Arienne
July 27 @ 2:00 pm - July 29 @ 3:00 pm
The heart is the center of our being and our alchemistical workshop and the core of Sufi healing and Sufi psychology. By focusing on our heart and breaking through the barrier of our ego-self, we will be able to heal ourselves in a spiritual and holistic way by purifying body, heart and soul, as the prayer Nayaz tells us. In the depths of our heart, we can find our inner guidance and our relationship with the Divine. This can help us to find our creativity and direction in life.
Wali and Ariënne are renowned international senior mentors and Sufi sheikhs who for two decades have traveled Europe with outreach into the US, Australia and New Zealand. Dutch by birth, they moved to Germany to establish Khankah Samark, a spiritual center for deepening the legacy of Hazrat Inayat Khan and Murshid SAM through the Dances of Universal Peace and a deep study of these ancestors and classical Sufis like Rumi, Ibn ‘Arabi and al-Ghazali.
Wali is an accomplished musician on the 12-string guitar, a storyteller and a writer and translator of Sufi poetry. He has published over a dozen books, mainly on Rumi and other Sufi authors. Ariënne has an uncanny way of leading and teaching the dances from the body and at times completes the music with the gentle tones of her
alto-recorder. Their harmonies have to be heard to be believed! They released three successful studio recorded CD’s and published a number of booklets, written especially for travelers on the path of dances and spirituality.
In their style of leading, they combine strength with beauty, depth with lightness, joy with energy, and clarity and focus with ease. Their co-teaching allows for interweaving of masculine and feminine energies.
This weekend in Fort Wayne is an excellent opportunity to experience their unique and ‘European’ style of dance leading, and learning dances like the Kadosh Dance, the Nayaz Dance, the Sunshine Zikr, the Rebounding Zikr, and many more.
