Guest Artist

  Every April the Fort Wayne Dance Collective brings a guest artist to Fort Wayne to inspire, educate, enhance the community, and blow the minds of those who attend these amazing performances. FWDC has also hosted 3 Indiana Dance Festivals featuring a guest artist performance, an Indiana Dancers Showcase performance, and 3 days of workshops. This year Fort Wayne Dance Collective is proud to present RUBBERBANDance Group from Montréal, Canada, featuring:

• Lecture/Demonstration-Friday, April 13 at 4:00 p.m. at the Arts United Center. Tickets are $5

• Master Class-Friday, April 13 at 7:00 pm Location TBD. Cost is $25. Call FWDC for details.
• Performance-Saturday, April 14 at 8:00 p.m. at the Arts United Center. Advance tickets are $22 for adults, $20 for students, At-the-door: $27 adults, $25 students. The group will be performing a piece entitled, Gravity of Center. RBDG is lead by innovative, award-winning choreographer, Victor Quijada. Quijada’s unique fusion of hip-hop, break dance and contemporary ballet create a style of dance all his own. “Choreographer and dancer Victor Quijada, founded RUBBERBANDance Group (RBDG) to create an exploratory base where he could mix his several influences to create a new concept of dance: a contemporary style that would blend the spontaneity and exuberance of hip hop with the refinement of classical dance. With Gravity of Center, Victor Quijada succeeds to contain the ferocity of hip hop in a perfectly refined choreographic language.” We are so excited to bring this innovative group to Fort Wayne!
