In each room visited by Kathy Curtis, patients name their medicine by telling her what they need so that they can concoct it. Be it Hope or God or Humor or Safety (or or or), they instinctually know what word sums up the essence of their path to healing. Then, with her love of words, their meaning, their beauty on the page, and their power to affect change, she creates visual word medicine to leave behind. Patients smile when she says to gaze into it 3 times a day for 30 seconds to make themselves feel better. And she is pretty sure they will.
