Touring Company
We’ll come to you.
The Fort Wayne Dance Collectives Touring Company, a four-member artistic group of regional dancers, performs Dancing Through the Pages, combining dance and children’s literature to emphasize the importance and excitement of reading. Designed to enhance reading readiness and promote literacy, this performance includes dances based on the books Princess Smartypants by Babette Cole, The Gold Coin by Alma Flor Ada, The Z was Zapped by Chris Van Allsburg, The Foot Book by Dr. Seuss, and Haiku, using poetry and colorful scarves to create enchanting images.
Dancing Through the Pages has been performed with enthusiastic popularity and success in over 150 elementary schools in Indiana, Missouri and Oklahoma over the past five years. It has also been a big hit at libraries.
A Village Beyond celebrates Asian culture through Taiko drumming, Haiku poetry, masks and T’ai Chi Chuan movement. It includes the history of Taiko and allows participants the opportunity to try out the big drums. This performance is for all ages.
