Sydney began dancing at the age of 3. She started seriously training with the New American Youth Ballet in 2007. Throughout her years at NAYB, Sydney has performed in various works such as George Balanchine’s Valse-Fantasie, Jimmy Orrante’s Communal, and numerous roles in The Nutcracker. In 2017, Sydney was chosen to be the Student Artistic Director for NAYB’s Student Choreography Showcase. In past summers, Sydney has trained with Indiana University and Milwaukee Ballet, as well as the Alonzo King LINES Ballet Summer Intensive on full scholarship. In her academic career, Sydney has received NAYB’s Student of the Year Award, maintained a membership in the National Honors Society, and was offered a scholarship for the National Youth Leadership Forum in Engineering and Technology. Sydney is now entering her sophomore year at Purdue University on full scholarship with a major in astronautical engineering and a minor in dance.
