This contemporary dance performance will feature original works by the compelling choreographic voices of FWDC’s professional Company and Pineapple Dance Project.

Halloween Show- Shino Shadows
Shino Shadows is Fort Wayne Dance Collective’s 14th annual Halloween Show! This year’s fantastical tale introduces audience members to the many different Youkai, supernatural entities that cause mischief, found in Japanese folklore. Shino Shadows will be performed by FWDC’s professional artists, on-site students, outreach students, and dancers from our community. Joining us for this performance are drummers from Fort Wayne Taiko, a program of FWDC, and guest artists from the Japanese Folk Dance Institute of New York.
When: October 20 (8:00pm), October 21 (2:00pm & 8:00pm), & October 22, 2023 (2:00pm)

CATS
In a magical world, the Jellicles will reunite to celebrate who they are and to make the “Jellicle choice” by deciding which of them will ascend to the Heaviside Layer and come back to a new life. This Broadway musical collaboration with Three Rivers Music Theatre will feature extraordinary local artists while showcasing their unique abilities and special traits, both on and off the stage.
When: March 2-3, 9-10 (Saturday shows at 2:00 PM & 7:30 PM; Sunday shows at 2:00 PM)

Guest Artist Residency- Ailey II
FWDC will collaborate with the Embassy Theatre again in 2024 to host Ailey II to inspire, educate, and entertain the Fort Wayne community in its annual Guest Artist Residency program. Ailey II is universally renowned for merging the spirit and energy of the country’s best early-career dance talent with the passion and creative vision of today’s most outstanding and emerging choreographers.

Choreographer’s Lab
FWDC’s annual Choreographer’s Lab is a workshop-style intensive that gives professional, creative, and technical support to local choreographers. Participating artists are provided with tools to aid them in the choreographic process including rehearsal space, dancers to work with, and the opportunity to work with professional technical designers.
When: April 27 (2:30pm & 7:30pm) & April 28, 2024 (2:30pm & 6:00pm)

June Family Concert
This annual, sensory-friendly performance showcases the technical and creative growth of students who participate in FWDC’s on-site classes.
