About the workshop: This energetic class brings hip hop culture alive through dynamic music and choreography set by Fort Wayne’s very own AiJaye Crowder! Movement elements and techniques are taught through dance combinations that allow you to explore your artistry and unique style. Open to teens and adults of all levels.
About the teaching artist: Originally from Birmingham, AiJaye has lived in Fort Wayne most of his life. When he was 10 years-old, he started his dance career at a local Boys and Girls Club where he fell in love with the art of dance. At the age of 16, AiJaye created and set all the choreography for his own dance team at the club “Topnotch.” He has since led many groups, volunteered many hours for organizations supporting troubled youth, and has participated in many performances for local dance studios and FWDC. AiJaye is trained in hip hop, jazz, tap, contemporary, lyrical, heels, and step. As a member of FWDC’s professional company, he choreographs and performs in Collective Expressions, the annual Halloween show, and Choreographer’s Lab. He recently completed his reign as Mister Gay Indiana 2022 under his stage name, AiJaye Finessé.
