Alison Gerardot, Outreach Director, AKA “The Get-er Doner”
First order of business: Turn the fluorescent lighting off.
Favorite thing about her job: doing something new each day, working in dance and impacting the community in amazing ways
Least favorite thing about her job: When her computer freezes and shows the spinning wheel of death
As Outreach Director, Alison Gerardot is in charge of both Off-Site Programs including grants, contracts, and overseeing all outreach programs and Development including donors, corporate sponsors and special events. She does everything from helping develop the budget to coordinating collaborative nursing art installations at Parkview to helping decide who the next Guest Artist company will be. As a Taurus, Alison is very passionate about what she does and puts her full effort into it all. Likewise, she can be very stubborn and when she has an idea, she tries her hardest to see it pushed through to fruition, sometimes shoving her co-workers over the edge. Alison works best with a lot on her plate, brings energy everywhere she goes, enjoys being a leader and helping develop new strategies for the organization. As a lover of learning, Alison is always reading new articles on effective non-profits, new strategies in development and new statistics.
Her initial exposure to FWDC was in the mid-90’s when she saw a performance at IPFW and then later in 2000 when she performed in a guest piece for one of the annual concerts. She learned a lot through that experience and gained some great modern dance training.
Alison loves to find theme songs for specific times, play them and dance around the office like a crazy person. She enjoys weirding Jarin out with her crazy antics and tends to drive Liz nuts with all of her new ideas. She make lots of piles of things around her office in an attempt to organize herself. Since she cooks a lot, she sometimes eats strange things and enjoys making Jarin try new concoctions. Even if chia seeds make Jarin want to barf.
