I’ve spent a lot of time lately thinking about how much we actually do here at the Fort Wayne Dance Collective. We do A LOT. With our on-site classes, all of our performances and the plethora of outreach we provide to the community, it just keeps adding up to equal, well…lots of people. But it’s not lots of people that make the stories. Everyone has an individual story to tell about how they have been impacted by The Fort Wayne Dance Collective and the many services we provide.

Take for instance, Brittney. Brittney has been a teacher, a touring company member, and a student of the Fort Wayne Dance Collective for over 10 years. She currently teaches on-site as well as for Weisser Park, Memorial Park and South Side High School. Brittney is also the guest lecturer for the IPFW dance program, which this past year, decided to do away with its Dance Minor program. Therefore, Brittney is at a crossroads. Does she continue doing what she has done for the past 20 years of her life, positively impacting hundreds of lives every week? Or is she now forced to find a job elsewhere, leaving her passion and her heart behind in the work that she loves?
