Fort Wayne Dance Collective (FWDC) has hosted a guest artist in Fort Wayne once a year since 1989. Master classes, workshops, lectures and performances are held during the guest artist’s residency to engage community artists of all ages and abilities. This year, FWDC is proud to present DIAVOLO as the 2018 guest dance company!
DIAVOLO is a nationally renowned touring dance and acrobatics company that reinvents dance, reimagines theater and redefines thrills. Their performance, as seen on “America’s Got Talent”, pushes the boundaries of the typical performing arts experience.
DIAVOLO’s residency in Fort Wayne will include three public workshops on Friday, February 2nd at FWDC’s school on E. Berry Street. These workshops will reach veterans, dancers, and artists of all mediums. The residency will conclude with the dynamic performance at Arts United at 7:30pm on Saturday, February 3rd. DIAVOLO’s performance will incorporate larger than life props and will feature a guest performance by over thirty FWDC on-site school and outreach program students.
It is important for the growth of our city to present our community members with opportunities to experience the arts. Dance and other performing arts are a key form of self-expression and an effective tool through which people with and without disabilities can communicate. DIAVOLO’s performance of Architecture in Motion® will be a stunning display of creativity in which people from all backgrounds can enjoy.
